Designing a fun, yet practical kid’s bedroom space is no easy feat. Not only do you have to consider all the main essentials –  the bed, the chest of drawers and the wardrobe, but you also need to create a space that feels inviting, safe and comfortable, which is designed to allow your child’s personality to really shine through. And knowing where to start can be really tricky! That’s why we love sharing real reader home projects with you all. I don’t know about you, but I love having a snoop around other people’s homes, taking note of the bits that I love that I can incorporate into my own home. This week, we’re excited to showcase a family home in Canada, focusing on the fun, playful bedroom space designed by Creative Director Claudia Bader at Creative Union Network design studio for a young family of four. Read on to find out how Claudia met the client’s brief.

Artist Anahita Azrahimi and tech professional Diederik van Liere were already living in a contemporary two-bed condo in Toronto, Canada with their two daughters aged 5 and 7 when they first got in touch with us. They wanted to reimagine the property’s existing floorplan to make better use of the space available, as well as visually create something much more in keeping with their interior style.
